The purpose of the Master Permit Program is to streamline the permit process by issuing multiple permits based on the review of a single set of documents that represent the same building type. The applicant therefore does not have to submit duplicate sets of plans with each building permit application.
The Master Permit Program is appropriate for large single and multi-family residential developments with identical building types (5-model limit). Projects with unusual design or multiple configurations are not suitable for this process. The Building Inspection Division maintains sole authority as to the suitability of a plan for this purpose.
Providing all requirements are met, the Building Inspection Division guarantees the issuance of subsequent permits from a Master Permit within 10 working days of submission. If an applicant submits a large number of applications, the applicant shall designate five (5) that are of the highest priority. There is a one time fee of $500 which must be paid when submitting the Master Plan(s).
Please contact George Diaz, Chief Building Official at (561) 243-7211 to discuss this option for your construction project. |
