The Neighborhood Services division is responsible for the administration, management and implementation of various Federal, State and local grant-funded programs that benefit the low, very low, and moderate income households living within the designated target area. Emphasis has been directed at the preservation of existing housing units, increasing home ownership opportunities the creation of jobs through economic development activities and providing decent, standard infrastructures throughout the designated target area.
Neighborhood Services staff encourage and develop public/private partnerships with organizations such as the Community Child Care Center, Fair Housing Center of the Greater Palm Beaches, the Urban league, Delray Beach Housing Authority (DBHA), Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), Habitat for Humanity, Community Development Corporation (CDC), Community Land Trust (CLT), and other corporations or non-profit organizations.
The City's Neighborhood Association program provides technical assistance to the 152 organized Homeowners Associations, helps organize new associations and provides a variety of special events and projects designed to celebrate and encourage civic involvement.
The division provides services and housing opportunities through various sources: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), State Housing Initiatives Partnership Program (SHIP), Disaster Recovery Initiatives (DRI), Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP), Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) and City funds.
