Composting is a good way to recycle lawn and garden waste.
Grass and hedge clippings, leaves, pine needles, coconuts, fruits and similar small, loose items must be containerized, i.e., bagged, boxed or placed in a garbage container weighing 50 pounds or less per bag, box or container. All vegetative waste will be collected on a scheduled day, which will always be a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday (Click here to determine your vegetative pick up day). Place the containerized materials next to your regular garbage receptacle – however, if you receive rear/side door service, all vegetation must be placed at curbside/roadside for collection. Bulk (large item) vegetative waste must be no longer than 6 feet in length and must weigh no more than 50 pounds per item. Vegetative items must not be mixed with any other type of trash.
There are no vegetative waste collections on Thanksgiving and Christmas days. Collections resume on the next regularly scheduled collection day for the type of collection not picked up. For example, if your regular vegetative waste collection day is Wednesday, which is on Christmas day, your next vegetative collection will be the following Wednesday.
Vegetative waste items from land clearing activities will not be collected. Additional collection service for a fee may be available. Please call (561) 243-7219 for information.
Vegetative waste may not be set out for collection any earlier than 5:00 pm on the day preceding the scheduled collection day but never later than 6:00 am on the day of scheduled collection. There are no collections done in unapproved alleys! Residents must report missed pick ups to (561) 243-7219 no later than the next business day. Items out for collection at incorrect times are subject to a Special Collection charge of $11.50 per cubic yard. These charges will appear on your water/sewer bills. click here to determine your pick up day. |
