Groups of residents or business owners within the City of Delray Beach are welcome to contact us to schedule an appointment for the American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR/AED class.

Imagine the excitement of riding in a fire engine on your way to an emergency call with lights and sirens. Your heart is pounding as the truck weaves its way through traffic and you struggle to get your bunker coat zipped up. As you arrive you can see the smoke billowing from the eaves of a house and you jump out of the truck ready to go to work. Sound like something that you might like? If so, you could be part of a very rewarding program.
The City of Delray Beach Fire-Rescue believes in preventing fire deaths and injuries by teaching fire-safe behavior. Our presentations are customized to the appropriate age level and group we are speaking too.
Our firefighters and paramedics enjoy giving fire station tours to groups and organizations. We welcome residents and visitors to schedule an appointment to come into their fire station home and see how they live while on duty.

In this class, participants are taught how to identify minor injuries versus life-threatening emergencies, and the importance of early activation of 9-1-1. We explain some of the signs and symptoms of minor injuries and their proper treatment. They also have an opportunity to practice different bandaging and splinting techniques as time permits.
If you want your students to learn about a career in the fire service, just give us a call. We offer brief presentations in a classroom setting for children in preschool through high school. This is normally and informative interactive lesson that is welcomed by the students.
Delray Beach Fire-Rescue (DBFD) believes that we should maintain a strong focus on preventative health, life safety and injury prevention education in the community. It is for this reason that we have “The Fire Station Community Education Program” (FSCE). This program is aimed at increasing our efforts in the area of health and wellness. Our goal is to reduce the number of acute medical/injury emergencies in our community.
