Hurricane Season begins on June 1, 2009

May 18, 2009: 

The Delray Beach Fire-Rescue Department will celebrate the graduation of the Community Emergency Response Team Graduates at The City of Delray Beach Fire-Rescue, 501 W Atlantic Avenue, on Monday, May 18, 2009.  The Emergency Drill will start at 7:30 and graduation will follow in the Training Rooms located at Station #1.

Community Education Specialist, Lieutenant Trisha Dunkelmann along with Paramedic Instructor’s Kenny Thompson and Joe Lang will present certificates to twenty-six graduates.  The class completed 8 weeks of training which focused on disaster preparedness.  They learned about; Fire Suppression, Disaster Medical Treatment and Triage, Light Search and Rescue, Terrorism, Disaster Psychology along with operations and services of the Delray Beach Fire-Rescue Department.  They experienced “hands on” situations to prepare them.  With hurricane season starting on June 1, 2009 the Community Emergency Responders are ready to help themselves, neighbors and fire-rescue should the need arise.

Please join the City of Delray Beach Fire-Rescue Department as the latest graduates are welcomed into the Community Emergency Response Team alumni.
