The City of Delray Beach Parks Maintenance Division applied for and received two $5,000 Public Land Grants from Palm Beach County Department of Environmental Resources Management for the removal of exotic plants in two of the City’s parks. The removal included non-native, invasive plants such as Brazilian Pepper, Carrot Wood, Air Potato and Schefflera in Orchard View Park and Leon M. Weekes Environmental Preserve.

Delray Municipal Beach and Atlantic Dunes Park are lifeguard supervised from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, 365 days per year.

The City of Delray Beach Parks and Recreation Department has boat storage spaces available on the north end of the beach for sixty (60) sailboats

Pompey Park Pool was awarded the Ride the Wave to Safety 2007 award from the American Red Cross for placing first, out of all of the Aquatic Facilities in Palm Beach County.
