Pompey Park Pool Wins Water Safety Award from American Red Cross

Pompey Park Pool was awarded the Ride the Wave to Safety 2007 award from the American Red Cross for placing first, out of all of the Aquatic Facilities in Palm Beach County, by having 1,107 participants enrolled in their Water Safety Program.

The program encourages children to lean water safety skills, with hands on experience on how to recognize, avoid or assist themselves and others in an aquatic emergency.  They effectively learn how to escape a potential double drowning, proper use of a Ring Buoy, Shepard’s Crook and Personal Flotation Device. They also learn how to safely perform an extended swimmers assist with a noodle, pool pole or towel and how to calculate an approaching storm.

The program is offered for children in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade, Groups, Non-profit Organizations and Home School students during the spring, summer and fall months.  Parents can sign up their children for scheduled Saturday classes.  The Water Safety Program can be scheduled and instructed at Pompey Park Pool located at 1101 NW 2nd Street Delray Beach Fl (P) 561. 243. 7358 or at the Delray Swim Club located at 2350 Jaeger Drive Delray Beach Fl (P): 561. 243. 7079
