
Ocean Safety Awareness Classes are scheduled upon request at your location or the Ocean Rescue Headquarters. The class covers ocean safety information about rip currents, man-o-war jellyfish, lightning / severe weather, marine life, and other beach related topics.

The Drowning Prevention Coalition of Palm Beach County has partnered with the City of Delray Beach to provide "Swim Bucks" certificates to those who need financial assistance. Children ages 6-17 years old who have achieved the highest marking in school will receive an Annual Pool Pass, free of charge, by presenting their report card to Pool Staff or the Delray Beach Community Center located at 50 NW 1st Ave. Pool pass photos will be taken at the time of registration.
Children will learn how to recognize and prevent dangerous situations and learn water safety skills that will help them in most aquatic emergency's. This program is for schools as an educational field trip, daycares, group presentations and general public for all ages. Pompey swim team members are registered with Florida Gold Coast Swimming and their competition swim times are recorded at a national level. Swim team members are eligible to compete in local and national swim meets including Junior Olympics and Olympic competitions. Swim team members unable to attend practice at 3:30 pm, the start time will be adjusted to accommodate school ending times.

The course content and activities prepare participant to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and prevent drowning and injuries. Certifications include: Lifeguard Training, adult/Child/Infant CPR, Standard First Aid, Automated External Defibrillator and Oxygen Administration.
