Ocean Safety Awareness

Ocean Safety Awareness Classes are scheduled upon request at your location or  the Ocean Rescue Headquarters. The class covers ocean safety information about rip currents, man-o-war jellyfish, lightning / severe weather, the Delray Wreck, and  other beach related topics.

Summer Junior Lifeguard - Ocean

Participants will learn lifesaving techniques, including first aid and use of real lifesaving equipment. A swim test is required for anyone who has not participated in the program previously. Space is limited.  Cost includes t-shirt, lycra rashguard, visor, year membership to USLA (United States Lifesaving Association).

Swim Bucks

Now it's a lot easier to learn how to swim. The Drowning Prevention Coalition of Palm Beach County has partnered with the City of Delray Beach to provide "Swim Bucks" certificates to those who need financial assistance. A's & B's Swim for Free

Children ages 5-17 years old who have achieved the highest marking on their report card will receive an Annual Pool Pass, free of charge, by presenting it to Pool Staff or the Delray Beach Community Center located at 50 NW 1st Ave. 

Water Safety for Everyone

Children will learn how to recognize and prevent dangerous situations and learn water safety skills that will help them in most aquatic emergency's. This program is for schools as an educational field trip, daycares, group presentations and general public for all ages. This program is held at Pompey Park Pool, 1101 NW 2nd Street and Delray Swim & Tennis Club, 2350 Jaeger Drive. Call (561) 243-7358 for more information.

Certified Lifeguard Training

The course content and activities prepare participant to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and prevent drownings and injuries. Certifications include: Lifeguard Training, adult/Child/Infant CPR, Standard First Aid, Automated External Defibrillator and Oxygen Administration. American Red Cross certifications will be issued upon passing and completing the course and are recognized nationwide. Maximum Class Capacity: 10 Participants

Summer Jr. Lifeguard - Pool

Requirement for class continuous  25 yard swim and tread water for one minute. Children will learn lifesaving skills with hands on experience; proper use of rescue equipment, surveying the water & standard first aid. Please pack snack, lunch and plenty of water.

Barracudas Swim Team

South Florida Recreational Swim League. Swimmers build competitive swim skills and participate in swim meets in South Florida.  Meets are held on Saturdays and some holidays.

Water Baseball

Enjoy one of America's favorite past times...in the water!  Hit a home run and swim to home base.  

Inner Tube Water Polo

We combined water polo with inner tubes to create....Inner Tube Water Polo!  This is a fun way to build on team spirit while getting a great physical work out.   

50 Mile Swim Club

Lap swim and water walkers only. Once participants complete 50 miles, their name will be engraved on a plaque hanging at the facility.

Individual Instructional Swim Lessons

Learn how to swim one-on-one with swim instructors. All of the instructors are certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors and will provide quality swim lessons for all swim students. All swim lessons follow the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program.  Each session consists of (4) 20 min classes. 

Group Swim Lessons

Participants will learn how to swim with positive reinforcement in a class setting with six swimmers to one swim instructor for Levels I & II.  Participants enrolled in Parent & Child, Level III, Young Adult and Adult classes have a class setting of ten participants to one swim instructor. All of the instructors are certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors and will provide quality swim lessons for all swim students. All swim lessons follow the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program.  Class registrations are held on a first come, first serve basis.

Summer Camp Registration - Open Recreation Swim for Schools, Groups & Non-Profit Organizations

Need to find a way to cool off your campers?  Swim at Pompey Pool or Delray Swim and Tennis...come on in, the water is fine!  Our aquatic facilities can accommodate you and your campers.  Let your campers jump off our diving boards, swim in the shallow area or let the little ones wade in our small pool.  Our boys and girls locker rooms are installed with heated showers.

50 Hour Work-out

Anyone attending the Water Exercise Class or exercising on their own can keep track of the hours working out at the Delray Swim & Tennis Club. When completing a "50 Hour Work-Out," participants will receive an award with their name on it and their name placed on a plaque in the Aquatic's Office.

Water Exercise

A low impact aquatic exercise program for all ages interested in keeping fit in an aquatic setting. This classl will increase ones heart rate and strengthen muscles.
