Youth

Junior Lifeguard Program

Dates: June 11—22, 2012
Ages: 11-17
Days: Mon.—Fri. (no Wed)
Times: 9 am -10:30 am
Cost: $85 residents; $90 non residents

Participants are introduced to ocean lifesaving methods and equipment. They learn skills for competency in the marine environment by swimming, paddling, and performing mock rescues. New participants must successfully pass the swim test to be eligible to register which will be Sat, June 9 ,10am – 11am at Pompey Park Pool, 1101 N.W. 2nd Street. (243-7358) Enrollment is limited to 50 participants. Registration fee includes uniform and membership with the United States Lifesaving Association.

Ocean Safety Awareness

Ocean Safety Awareness Classes are scheduled upon request at your location or the Ocean Rescue Headquarters. The class covers ocean safety information about rip currents, man-o-war jellyfish, lightning / severe weather, marine life, and other beach related topics.
