South Federal Highway Redevelopment Plan

The City's Planning & Zoning Department is in the process of creating a redevelopment plan for the South Federal Highway corridor between Linton Boulevard and the South City limits. The purpose of this plan is to guide and promote the future redevelopment of the area.

On March 3 and 7, 2011, the Planning and Zoning Department held public workshops to allow property owners, residents and business owners to voice their opinions on the redevelopment of the corridor.

Staff's presentation included:

  • An overview of the boundaries of the Plan Area;
  • Review of existing land use patterns; and
  • Review of Existing Zoning Districts and Future Land Use Map Designations.

On June 28 and 29, 2011, the Planning and Zoning department held public workshops to discuss alternatives for Future Land Use Map designations and Zoning districts in the area and discuss modifications to the Land Development Regulations to protect the existing adjacent residential development. The presentation for these two workshops is provided below:
