CONDITIONAL USE

DESCRIPTION

For each zoning district, along with the list of permitted uses, a list of uses is given which may be approved pending a review of the particular use request. These "conditional" uses are those which are considered not generally or automatically appropriate everywhere in the zoning district, but which may be allowed if controlled as to location, intensity, etc. Conditions are usually attached to the approval, and may include limitations on the hours of operation, requirements to buffer the use from adjacent properties, and similar measures to control the impact of the use.

PROCESS

Planning and Zoning Board holds a public hearing and makes a recommendation to the City Commission. The City Commission considers the request at a regular meeting, and makes the final decision.
