LAND USE APPROVALS & PROCESSES

This page provides a brief description of the following types of land use approval, and the review process for each:

The guiding rules are found in State Statutes, the City's Comprehensive Plan, and the City's Land Development Regulations.

City Boards involved in the review processes include:

All Board meetings are open to the public. Certain types of approvals involve public hearings which provide an opportunity for people to comment on development proposals. Items which involve a formal public hearing are advertised in the newspaper and noticed by letter to properties near the proposed development.
