Chief Anthony Strianese began his career with the City of Delray Beach Police Department in 1989, working his way up through the ranks and appointed to the position of Chief of Police on July 1, 2008.
Chief Strianese earned his Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University in 2008 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1984 from the State University of New York at Albany. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy (230th Session) and the Senior Management Institute for Police, Police Executive Research Forum. He has completed over 2,500 hours of specialized law enforcement training.
Chief Strianese's professional affiliations include the International Association of Chiefs of Police, Florida Police Chiefs Association, Palm Beach County Chiefs of Police Association and FBI National Academy Association. He is also an active member of Rotary International.
Assistant Chief Joseph Milenkovic began his policing career in Delray Beach in 1990. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1999, Lieutenant in 2002, Captain in 2006 and Assistant Chief in 2008.
While working his way through the ranks he completed a Bachelor of Science degree from the New York Institute of Technology and his Master of Education degree from Florida Atlantic University. Assistant Chief Milenkovic has numerous hours of tactical and leadership training and is a graduate of the 119th Class of the Southern Police Institutes Administrative Officers Course, which was conferred at the University of Louisville.
Assistant Chief Milenkovic's professional affiliations include the Florida Police Chiefs Association, Palm Beach County Chiefs of Police Association, and the Southern Police Institutes Alumni Association. He is also a member of Rotary International and the Rotary Club of Delray Beach.
Assistant Chief of Police Jeffrey Goldman began his career with the City of Delray Beach Police Department in 1989. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2000, Lieutenant in 2005, Captain in 2007, and has been in his current rank since 2011.
Assistant Chief Goldman earned his Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Florida International University. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia Southern University. Assistant Chief Goldman is a graduate of the FBI National Academy (241st Session), and the Senior Management Institute for Police, Police Executive Research Forum (36th Session).
Assistant Chief Goldman's professional affiliations include the Florida Police Chiefs Association, Palm Beach County Chiefs of Police Association, FBI National Academy Association and the Police Executive Research Forum. Assistant Chief Goldman is a board member of AVDA-Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse, and is currently the President of the Delray Beach Sunrise Kiwanis Club.
Captain Heysler joined the Delray Beach Police Department in October of 1986. She has held positions in the Patrol Division as an officer and in the Investigative Division as a detective. Captain Heysler served as a Patrol Sergeant before being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. As a lieutenant, she held the position of Watch Commander in the Patrol Division, Lieutenant in charge of the Detective Bureau and Unit Commander (Lieutenant) over the Vice, Intelligence and Narcotics Unit. Once promoted to Captain, she was assigned as Commander of the Community Response Division and is currently the Patrol Division Commander.
Captain Heysler earned a Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of Tampa, Tampa, Florida and a Masters Degree in Sports Medicine from the U.S. Sports Academy in Mobile, Alabama. Captain Heysler is a graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police and the Southern Police Institute through Broward Community College and the University of Louisville. She has completed over 2,000 hours of specialized law enforcement and management training.
Captain Heysler's professional affiliations include the National Association for Female Executives, The Palm Beach County Police Chiefs Association and has been nominated to be a member of the Florida Police Chiefs Association. She has coached for the Wellington Wild and North Palm Beach Renegades Fast pitch softball organizations.
Captain Sims joined the Delray Beach Police Department in September of 1992. He has held the position of Police Officer in the Patrol Division, Community Policing, and Walking Beat. He served as a Sergeant in the Patrol Division and Tactical Team prior to being promoted to Lieutenant. As a Lieutenant, he held the positions of Watch Commander in the Patrol Division and Commander in the Community Response Task Force. Once promoted to Captain, he was assigned as Commander of the Community Response Division.
Captain Sims earned a Bachelors of Science Degree from the Florida A and M University, Tallahassee, Florida and a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. Captain Sims is a graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police, Southern Police Institute through Broward Community College and the University of Louisville and the Institute of Public Safety at Broward Community College. He is a 2009 graduate of the Florida Executive Development Seminar and has completed over 2,500 hours of specialized law enforcement and management training.
Captain Sims' professional affiliations include the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) and the Palm Beach County Chiefs of Police Association. He is a member of the Florida Police Chiefs Association as well as a member of the Omega Phi Psi Fraternity, South Palm Beach Chapter, and is an active member of the Delray Beach Rotary Club. In 2010 he was a graduate of the Future Police Chiefs Seminar and has been nominated for the FBI National Academy.
Captain Mitchell is a twenty-five year police veteran, twenty of which have been with the Delray Beach Police Department.
Captain Mitchell is a graduate of Barry University, earning a Masters degree in Human Resource Development and Administration, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Administration. Captain Mitchell is also a graduate of Senior Management Institute for Police and the University of Louisvilles Command Officers Development Course.
Captain Mitchell's police career encompasses a wide array of experience to include community patrol, street narcotics, Community Policing Unit, the Investigative Division as a crimes against children detective, auto theft detective, a sergeant for the departments Anti-Crime Unit, as well as a lieutenant in the Vice, Intelligence and Narcotics Section. Currently Captain Mitchell is the Commander of the agency's Community Response Division. Capt. Mitchell is a member of the Palm Beach County Police Chief's Association, the Delray Beach Elks Clun BPOE 1770, and a board member of the West Atlantic Avenue Revitalization Coalition.
