July 13, 2007: The resurfacing, restoration, and rehabilitation of State Route A1A through Delray Beach will begin on July 30, 2007. The work includes drainage, converting the traffic signals at Casuarina Road, Atlantic Avenue and George Bush Boulevard from wire span signals to mast arm traffic lights, installation of sidewalks, paved shoulders and resurfacing the entire roadway. Construction will cover the length of A1A through Delray Beach from Linton Boulevard to George Bush Boulevard.
The work will be done in phases with the first phase suspending construction on November 15, 2007 to minimize disruptions during the high season and will resume on April 1, 2008. The entire project should be completed, weather permitting, by December 5, 2008.
