211 Palm Beach/Treasure Coast is a non-profit agency that provides information, referrals, crisis intervention and community education 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Programs and services are available for teens, families, elders, caregivers and professionals.

All calls are free, confidential and non-judgmental.  Se habla Espanol and Nou Pale Kreyol.

Free AOL Instant Messenger Program - Teens can log on to www.aim.com and Instant Message screen name TEEN211PBTC1.  Service is free, non-judgmental and confidential.  Regularly available 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm, 7 days a week.  New extended summer hours 8:30 am - 11:00 pm.

211 Teen Ambassador Program - Teens can earn required community service hours promoting 211 at school and other community events.  For more info call Patrice (561) 383-1149.

Youth Yellow Pages - A publication created by 211 Palm Beach/Treasure Coast for teens and is used extensively throughout the School District of Palm Beach County.  This handy booklet features resource information specific to the diverse needs of our teen population.  Visit the 211 website www.211palmbeach.org to view virtual copy.

Senior Specific Programs:

Elder Helpline - Call 2-1-1 to reach the Elder HelpLine 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

"Sunshine" Free Daily Telephone Call Reassurance Program - To check on the well-being of seniors who are Palm Beach county residents over the age of 60, homebound or disabled.  Service is provided seven days a week between the hours of 7:30 am and 5:00 pm.

Health Insurance Questions - "S.H.I.N.E." volunteers provide free, unbiased counseling assistance on Medicare and Medicaid, long term care planning and prescription assistance to Florida's seniors and their caregivers.

Volunteer Opportunities

If you would like to bring a little "sunshine" into the lives of others, come join the Lantana facility to make these important daily telephone calls between the hours of 7:30 am and 5:30 pm.  Flexible scheduling available, brief training is required.  Call Noel (561) 383-1117.

211 Palm Beach/Treasure Coast is also looking for Community Awareness Volunteers.  These volunteers help promote 211 at health and informational fairs and other community events.  They can also speak or assist at speaking engagements highlighting the programs and services of 211.  Flexible scheduling available, brief training required.  Call Patrice (561) 383-1149.

  • 211 Call Center Operators serve as a vital link to social services in the community and utilize non-judgmental active listening skills to address callers' needs.
  • Calls are received from individuals who may need information and referrals to social service organizations, may be in distress or even suicidal.
  • Operators are required to complete 50 hours of training involving agency orientation, role playing, computer training and classroom instruction.
  • Operators are asked to commit to working one 4 hour shift per week (flexible shifts available).
