The City of Delray Beach has implemented an emergency notification system called CodeRED, which is capable of placing as many as sixty thousand calls per hour to provide residents and businesses with critical information in emergency situations. In the event that the system is activated for your area, it will make up to three attempts to reach any phone numbers that you register.
The system may be activated, for example, to broadcast evacuation orders and instructions; boil water orders; warnings of bomb threats, chemical spills, or gas leaks; alerts regarding missing persons; and reports of criminal activities in adjacent areas. Calls may be placed to all person who have registered with the service or targeted at those who are located in an affected area.
In order to benefit from this alert system, please register today. (Note that the registration form is on a secure website.) You must provide your name, street address (which is needed in order that you be notified of situations particular to your geographic location), and up to two phone numbers, either conventional or cellular. If you wish to register a business with this service, please enter the word 'Business' as the first name and the full business name as the last.
It is recommended that you register local numbers only. If your alternate phone is out-of-State, you will receive Code Red Alerts at that number.
If you are the resident member of a condo or homeowner association and your utilities are paid from a "master list", it is likely your local phone number will not be in the Code Red data base for emergency alerts unless you register with this application.
Please note that this system will only be utilized in emergencies.
You may also enroll by mailing a request to the address below. Please make sure to include your Name, Address and Phone number to be called.
