Thank you for your interest in seeking employment with the Delray Beach Police Department.  We are a professional law enforcement organization utilizing modern technology, state-of-the-art equipment, and comprehensive training techniques.

The City of Delray Beach is a culturally diverse, beachside community with over 60,000 residents and approximately fifteen square miles in area. NOTE:  Please be aware that you will be required to make a minimum of two to three trips to Florida for the testing process.


To Apply

ALL APPLICANTS:  Prior to the online submission of application, all applicants must successfully complete the BASIC ABILITIES TEST (B.A.T.) and PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST(P.A.T.) at BROWARD COMMUNITY COLLEGE INSTITUTE OF PUBLIC SAFETY OR PALM BEACH COMMUNITY COLLEGE, CRIMINAL JUSTICE (see link below).

OUT OF STATE APPLICANTS may apply online but must complete this requirement during their first phase of testing with the agency.  NOTE:  For additional requirements please see the "Employment Requirements" link above.

Begin the application process for the position of Police Officer.  If this is the first time you are applying online, you will need to create a free account by providing a username and password. Once you have created your account, complete your application by clicking on the "Build Job Application" link.

When completing your work experience, please list your current or last job and list your last ten (10) years of employment. All relevant employment history must be provided. After an application has been completed, you can reuse it to apply for future job openings.

Current Applicants

If you have received a response to continue, please print and complete the Police Officer Background Documents (PDF 445k) and submit them to the attention of the Administrative Services Section, 300 West Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach, Florida 33444.

You MUST submit your scores from the Basic Abilities Test (B.A.T.) AND the motor skills test or  Physical Agility Test (P.A.T.). The P.A.T. MUST BE completed at Broward Community College or Palm Beach Community College - NO OTHER TESTING CENTER WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR THE P.A.T.
