The City of Delray Beach and the Sandoway Discovery Center invite the public to "Make a Difference by Volunteering" at the Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup coordinated by Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful, Inc. in Palm Beach County. In an effort to promote a cleaner and safer beach environment, the City of Delray Beach and the Sandoway Discovery Center will participate in this worldwide campaign that enlists volunteers to collect trash and debris from our the Delray Beach Municipal Beach to ensure it remains a world class beach.
This year's event will be held on Saturday, September 15, from 8:00 am until 10:00 am, at the Sandoway Discovery Center, 142 South Ocean Boulevard. Residents and visitors are encouraged to attend this free event and join in this global effort. Supplies will be provided and participants are able to earn community service hours.

Registration forms can be downloaded, filled out completely, and turned in the morning of the cleanup. The International Coastal Clean Up is the world's largest one day volunteer event of its kind. Last year, approximately 400,000 volunteers from over 100 countries took part in this effort, resulting in the collection of more than six (6) million pounds of trash.
